Origins

As a concept, industrial symbiosis originated at Kalundborg in Denmark, amongst neighbouring enterprises that discovered many ways to share resources in order to provide mutually beneficial outcomes.

Industrial Symbiosis Kawerau looks to adopt and build upon the good work already done in this field, while establishing ourselves as a global exemplar for industrial symbiosis practice and low carbon business.
